
Supported Employment Marketing (Virtual)
This five-day module teaches participants the essentials of marketing. Participants will create a basic marketing plan for their organization or service, as well as crafting their own unique messaging. Participants will become familiar with the selling process and will have an opportunity to practice and apply these key skills. Participants will increase their comfort with their roles of marketing and selling their services and interacting with the business community.

Learning Outcomes
Learning Outcomes include:
- Enhanced ability to communicate the value persons with disabilities can provide to the workplace.
- Understanding of basic sales and marketing concepts and terminology
- Understanding of what makes great marketing
- Hands-on practice to create a basic marketing plan
- Increased confidence in approaching businesses
- Enhanced ability to work with clients through the sales process
Critical Questions to be explored:
- How can we move from charity-based language to the language of business?
- What is great marketing all about?
- How do we meet the needs of business with regards to employees?
- How can I approach a business with confidence?
- What are the steps of a successful sales and marketing process?
- What tools can help me be more successful in helping the people I serve to gain employment?
Instructor
Annette Borrows has been serving people with disabilities towards employment since 1999. Working together with Fraser Health, the Province (WorkBC), CLBC and the Federal government has allowed Annette to gain knowledge in a variety of methods of supported employment, contracting processes and accreditation requirements. Annette’s teaching style is down to earth, filled with success stories, exercises that take you into the business community, practical tools to glean important information from the people you are serving and a realistic, successful approach to the world of employment counselling.
