The BC Employment Network are pleased to announce that we were successful in obtaining two grants from CLBC to assist in advancing our efforts at promoting employment and ensuring that our collective workforce remains skilled and knowledgeable.
The first grant is for $300,000.00 and will support the delivery of a minimum of five Employment Training courses throughout BC for each of the next three years. This funding will allow the BCEN to deliver these courses at low cost to participants. Funding has been provided to ensure the participation of self-advocates in the delivery of the training.
The second grant is for $175,000.00 for a project provisionally entitled Culturally Safe Employment Services. The BCEN will be collaborating with the Indigenous Community and Leadership Development Group to develop, test and deliver training on culturally safe services through a pilot project. ICLD is an indigenous focused business providing a wide spectrum of training in personal development, human resource development, capacity building and indigenous governance. We look forward to this collaboration with ILCD and CLBC.
These are exciting developments for the BCEN and continued recognition of the important role we play in promoting and supporting employment services across the community living sector.
